The vertically deployed system provides a simple and flexible approach to monitoring marine sound.
The system is lightweight, easy to transport and quick to set up and deploy. It is well suited to mitigation and monitoring from static platforms (e.g. construction barges, oil rigs). Vertically deployed PAM can also be calibrated for sound measurement projects.
Our base system comprises a 100m array cable connecting to an audio processing unit, computer and headphones. The system can be mains or battery powered. PAMGuard software is integrated as standard to aid detection of marine mammals. Frequency response within a range of 20Hz and 200kHz can be customised for optimal performance. Equipment is provided with 100% back-up.
